Deleting a Scoring Expression
When using the delete function in the Scoring tab, you can delete an individual assertion element, an individual operator element, a group of elements connected with an operator, or the entire assertion.
To delete an individual assertion element:
- Right-click the assertion element and select Delete from the menu. The element is removed from the scoring expression.
To delete an individual operator element:
- Right-click the operator element and select Delete from the menu. If the operator has child elements, a new menu appears, giving you several options.
- To set the deleted operator's child elements to become children of its parent element, select Promote Children from the menu (if available).
- To set the deleted operator's child elements to become a connected group of orphan elements, select Make Intact Orphans from the menu (if available).
- To set the deleted operator's child elements to become separate orphan elements, select Make Separate Orphans from the menu. The orphaned elements are moved to the Clipboard panel at the bottom of the window.
To delete a group of elements:
1.In the Scoring Canvas, click and drag across the group of elements. A blue border appears around each selected element.
2.Right-click the operator element and select Delete from the menu. If the group has child elements, a new menu appears, giving you several options.
- To set the deleted group's child elements to become children of its parent element, select Promote Children from the menu (if available).
- To set the deleted group's child elements to become a connected group of orphan elements, select Make Intact Orphans from the menu (if available).
- To set the deleted group's child elements to become separate orphan elements, select Make Separate Orphans from the menu. The orphaned elements are moved to the Clipboard panel at the bottom of the window.
To delete an entire scoring expression:
1.Right-click in an empty region of the Scoring Canvas and select Delete Scoring Expression from the menu. Note that you cannot delete the only scoring expression present.
2.In the warning message that appears, click Yes.
